Frequently Asked Questions

When is the 2013 Sticky Bun Run?
Saturday, April 12, 2014.  The 1 mile Fun Run starts at 4:30 pm.  The 4 mile Sticky Bun Run starts at 5:00 pm.

What is the Course?
It’s the Greenway, people….what more do you need to know?  Ok, ok.  This year’s race is going to be totally awesome.  The course will be altered a bit, due to the construction on the Greenway (beyond our control). There will be a detour along the course, but we will have the course clearly marked and course guides will be directing the flow of traffic.  The bun eating area is in front of the crowds, so be sure to bring your game face!  Eat the buns, then run your heart out for another 2 miles, and head back to Mayor’s park for a chance to win something awesome from our raffle and more stuff to eat from Stick Boy Bread Company.

Is there parking?

Are there bathrooms?

Can you register on race day?

What’s the difference between a Bunner and a Runner (or Walker)?
A Bunner runs all 4 miles, eats all 4 sticky buns, and qualifies to win the race.
A Runner (or Walker) can run, walk, hop, crawl, eat as few or as many buns as they would like (up to 4, of course) or take their buns home. Runners (or Walkers) do not qualify for the medals, but they do get to say that they participated (which is just as good).
No matter if you’re a Bunner or a Runner, everyone gets a rad T-Shirt.

Do you have to eat the sticky buns?
No, you do not (but you should!).  You can register as a Runner (or Walker), eat a few buns or no buns at all.

Is there water provided during the race?
Yes.  There will be one water station that services both outgoing runners and incoming runners.

Can I run with a jogging stroller?
Yes!  You can run with a jogging stroller, a wagon, or a dogsled.  We want everyone to participate.

What does the race benefit?
All proceeds go to Grace Academy, a classical Christian school located in Boone, North Carolina.  Find out more about us at www.graceacademyboone.com!
